Nepal is a neighbor country of India. There is a mountain called Ama Dablam located in Himalaya region of eastern Nepal. The highest peak of Ama Dablam is 6,812 metres. The meaning of Ama Dablam is “Mother’s necklace”. Now the question can arise in your mind why it is named Ama Dablam? The reason behind is the long mountain hilltops that act like mother’s arm located on each side to save her child. And the glacier found on the hilltops is known as the deblam. The people who first climbed Ama Dablam were Mike Gill from New Zealand, Barry Bishop from USA, Mike Ward from United Kingdom, and Wally Romanes form New Zealand. They climbed through the Southwest Ridge on 13th March 1961.
