Devils tower located in northeastern Wyoming, USA is made of igneous rock. When magma and lava became cooled, it created igneous rock. Cooled magma became concentrated and formed columns. Its elevation above the Belle Fourche River is 1267 feet, but its height from base to summit is 867 feet. However the peak of the Devils Tower is 5112 feet above the sea level. 

President Theodore manifested Devils Tower as United States National Monument on September 24, 1906. It was known as the first United States National Monument and its border encircles an area of 1347 acres.

Approximately 400,000 tourists visit Devils Tower yearly and recently it is found about 1% among them climbed the Tower using conventional method.  

The name of Tower kept as Devil’s Tower in 1875 when the interpreter of Colonel Richard Irving Dodge, who was leading an expedition during that period, made a mistake to interpret a native name. That was “Bad God’s Tower”.
