Initial stage of HIV can affect brain, study reveals

Scientists found in a research that brain can be affected by HIV, known as Human immunodeficiency virus, while it is in initial stage. It has already been noticed that people with HIV can fall in depression and have a problem of forgetfulness. Scientists said that it is not yet confirmed that HIV causes these problems. There might be some other reasons. 

"Our research shows that HIV does have an impact on the brain and that these low-grade cognitive symptoms are likely not just function loss due to patients feeling sick, tired or depressed," said Stefan du Plessis, from Stellenbosch University (SU) in South Africa.
