This is M. P. Birla Planetarium located at Jawaharlal Nehru Road, near Victoria Memorial in the city of Kolkata. There is also St. Paul's Cathedral church beside this iconic structure. I have visited Birla Planetarium once. It is perfect place for students who have interest in space science and want to know about stars and planets.
Today, I was walking around it and took few photographs from different sides. People and students visit it throughout the year.
The structure has circular dome which is made based on the style of Buddhist Stupa at Sanchi. Recently, I came to know that it was closed for 28 months due to renovations work and reopened it for public visit on 18 July, 2017.
I will visit it again to know what changes have been made inside it and to have latest info about space world.
