Ever since I heard about the new covid variant Omicron, I have started worrying about the lockdown. However, so far this variant has not been found in any person in India. Yet its presence has alarmed all countries. This variant was first found in South Africa but now it has also spread to some countries of Europe. Apart from these countries, omicron has also been found in Israel and Australia.
If Omicron spreads in India, then the possibility of lockdown will increase again. I have already faced lockdown twice. There is absolutely no desire to face it again. I still remember the first lockdown very well. It was imposed for 21 days all over India. It was a completely new experience at that time. But my luck was so bad that my computer stopped working after three to four days of lockdown. The problem was that the whole country was closed. It was not possible to even call an engineer to my house.
So I tried to repair my computer myself and was successful. The hard disk of my computer was damaged. That's why it wasn't working. Luckily I had a 16 GB pendrive that I bought just before the lockdown was imposed. I installed Windows in the pendrive and started working again. It is also called Portable Windows.
The Omicron is a new virus that has mutated at least 30 times and is capable of threatening our immune system. However, it is not yet known how dangerous this is. Scientists are not at all familiar with the symptoms of Omicron. However, patients suffering from the new variant of covid are feeling "extremely tiredness". They have dry cough, muscle pain, and sore throat. However, I haven’t read anywhere that they are suffering from shortness of breath yet. Also there is no report of any death. So there is no need to be panic. But it is necessary to be careful.
The Central Government of India has already issued guidelines to all the states. Travelers coming from outside will be allowed to enter the country only after thorough screening. Researchers have started to find out how much the existing vaccine is capable of fighting Omicron. It may possible that even after taking a double dose of existing vaccine, everyone will have to take a booster. By the way, doctors in India have said that apart from existing vaccine, booster will not be needed. However, it would be a bit premature to say anything.
