Most of the people know about Mahatma Gandhi very well. I read about him many times in books when I was in school. Mahatma Gandhi was born in Porbandar on 2 October 1869 and died on 30 January 1948. Porbandar is located in Gujarat. Gandhiji was a main leader of the Indian independence movement. He did not like violence at all. He was a priest of non-violence.
You can see printed photo of Mahatma Gandhi on Indian Currency and in all government institutions. Apart from this, you will see many of his statue across the country. Now you can understand how important he is in our country India.
I saw this wonderful statue of Mahatma Gandhi in my city three days ago. I think it is newly made. It is made in a small park which has many beautiful flower plants and the park is surrounded by metal grill fence. Nobody can enter in this park.
