Castelluccio, a very small village, is located at the top of the mountain which is 1452 m high and enclosed with beautiful flower valley. It is known as the highest village in the Apennines. The village was officially settled in 13th century. But it is said that Roman citizens started living there even earlier. They use the sloping sections of the mountain to harvest lentils.
