You can remove moving objects from videos using AI-powered software

Have you ever tried to remove moving objects from videos? I haven’t tried it though, I was able to remove an object from an image using a website. I don’t remember the site address and also don’t know whether it used AI to eliminate the object. But recently a developer created AI-powered software that is capable to eliminate moving objects from videos.

You need to read this article to know how you can use AI to remove an object from footage. You only need to draw a box around the object that you want to remove from the footage and the rest of the process will be done by the software powered with AI.

Here you find some examples that are edited by AI powered software.

Look at the above footages. You can see a person in first footage crossing the road, but in second footage it is invisible. However, if you look at the second footage carefully, you will see the upper white line bends. That means the subject exists in the footage, but it is invisible.

In order to remove the object from the footage, the developer used two other training models:

  1. SiamMask  - To follow moving objects
  2. Deep Video Inpainting – to remove them from videos

The Video Object Removal software is opensource and uploaded to GitHub. You can easily find the code and amend it as per your requirements.
